It’s been good year for AAHA—thanks to our member hospitals.

Seventy-five percent of employees have stolen from their employer at least once, according to the US Chamber of Commerce. And sadly, veterinary staff are no exception—in a 2010 AAHA survey of AAHA-accredited practices, 86% of respondents reported that employees had stolen from the business.

“It looked like the sky was falling,” says Charles Hurty, DVM. He was talking about the skies over Newport, Oregon in September 2020, when out-of-control wildfires ravished the surrounding old growth forests and rained ash and grit over much of the Pacific Northwest. But he could have been talking about COVID-19.

Dr. Stacee Santi, veterinarian and founder of Vet2Pet, says part of the reason we’re so tired is that we find ourselves “having to go on a bunch of first dates all the time.” She thinks the right tech, used the right way, can get us closer to our ideal client – and our ideal day in practice.
