That’s why, early on in the pandemic when COVID-19 tests were scarce and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) was still tinkering with mask guidance amid a critical shortage of personal protective equipment, small groups of researchers around the world started searching for canine alternatives to traditional COVID-19 screening.
